MFA: Heroization of fascism by Armenia an example of disrespect to war victims and veterans

Baku. 8 May. REPORT.AZ/ "72 years have passed since the victory over fascism in the World War II. More than 50 states united in an anti-fascist coalition, saved the world from the threat of fascism. The Azerbaijani people also made a great contribution to the victory in the war."

Report informs, spokesman of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry (MFA) , Hikmet Hajiyev said in connection with the 72nd anniversary of the victory over fascism in the Second World War.

He recalled that more than 640,000 Azerbaijani citizens were sent to the front during the Second World War, among which, more than 300,000 were killed in battles. More than 440 thousand people wounded in battles were treated in hospitals of the Republic.

H. Hajiyev said that Azerbaijan who contributed to the victory over fascism, is seriously concerned about the current trends of the heroization of fascism, as well as racism, xenophobia and chauvinism.

The spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry said that although Armenia voted in favor of the resolution, in fact, the propaganda of Nazism and the glorification of fascism turned into a state policy in this country: "So, the heroization of SS General of fascist Germany Nzhdeh Garegin and Drastamat Kanayan known under the nickname "Dro" and their propagation as" national hero", reveal the true essence of the Armenian regime.

During the World War II, Nzhdeh Garegin and Drastamat Kanayan committed a brutal massacre against Jews and people of other nationalities in the territory of the USSR. Also militant groups including members of the Armenian nationalist organization Tsekhakron were formed in Bulgaria and Romania who called all Armenians around the world for cooperation with the Nazis.

Despite the injustice, we are sure that the historical merits of the valiant sons of Azerbaijan, who passed the glorious path in the Second World War, and the merits of those who worked selflessly in the home front, will never be forgotten and will become a true example of patriotism for the younger generation.
