The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan commented on the allegations made by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, during his speech at the government meeting, Report informs.
"Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's presentation of Armenia's firing on our border guards who raised our flag on Azerbaijani sovereign territory - at the Hakari Bridge built by Azerbaijan on June 15 as a provocation of Azerbaijan once again demonstrates that Armenia justifies its provocations," the statement reads.
The ministry dismissed the claims of the closure of the Lachin road by Azerbaijan as baseless.
Baku has repeatedly pointed out the inadmissibility of transporting goods to Azerbaijan under the guise of "humanitarian cargo" with military equipment and a number of other vehicles previously involved in illegal transportation without the country's permission, the ministry said.
"The activity of the Lachin border crossing point is regulated by our country and is of great importance for the control of entrance and exit to the Lachin road, which Armenia has continued to abuse for illegal activities in the territory of our country for the past three years. The fact that the International Court of Justice, in its decision dated July 6, unanimously rejected the appeal regarding the elimination of this border crossing point, once again proved that the Armenian side's claims are groundless," the statement reads.
