Khaled Akasheh: Conference on Islamophobia in Baku - step towards healing religious intolerance

The international scientific conference "Islamophobia in Focus: Unveiling Bias, Shattering Stigmas" in Baku is a step towards healing societies from religious intolerance, former secretary of the commission on religious relations in the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue of the Vatican Monsignor Khaled Akasheh told Report.

"I would like to thank Azerbaijan, its president and government, as well as everyone who contributed to the organization of this event. It draws attention mainly to the problems that our brothers and sisters - Muslims - face," he said.

According to him, the conference participants make a unified call: to respect every brother and sister, regardless of religion, ethnicity, culture, language, political preferences.

"Only in this way can we live in peace, unity and harmony. This is really possible. Of course, this conference is a step on the right path to healing," Khaled Akasheh noted.
