Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Ghada Waly, during COP29, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting discussed cooperation in combating transnational crime, particularly drug trafficking, as well as potential prospects for collaboration within the framework of COP29.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about the cooperation between relevant institutions of Azerbaijan and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, as well as joint measures being implemented within COP29.
The importance of training in combating transnational crime was brought to attention, and it was noted that joint projects for employees of various institutions could be beneficial.
It was noted that Azerbaijan has put forward several important initiatives within the framework of COP29 chairmanship, and special approval was given to the Call for Ceasefire, which emphasizes the connection between climate change and peace on the planet.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other matters of mutual interest.
