Jeyhun Bayramov meets with delegation of Brazil’s Federal Senate

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received a delegation led by, the head of the Brazil-Azerbaijani Friendship Group in the Federal Senate of Brazil, Senator Nelsinho Trad, who was on a visit to the country to observe the snap presidential elections, Report informs citing MFA.

During the meeting, prospects for expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Brazil, plans for increasing political contacts and the mechanism of bilateral consultations were discussed. The importance of preparation for the next meeting of the Joint Working Group on Trade and Investment Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Federal Republic of Brazil was brought to attention.

Bayramov noted that for the first time in the history of his country’s independence, the extraordinary elections of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which coincided with the period when the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country were fully restored, were of special importance for his country.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which is to be held in Azerbaijan this year, in terms of the development of bilateral relations, as well as the expansion of coordination with Brazil as a country hosting COP30.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
