Italy working together with Azerbaijan to achieve peace in South Caucasus

Italy provides all assistance for the protection of infrastructure in the Caspian Sea and works together with Azerbaijan to achieve peace in the region, Giorgio Mule, Vice President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, told Report.

He noted that Italy has strong partnership relations with Azerbaijan, and these relations are not based on energy cooperation but on common values.

According to him, the countries also plan to establish strong inter-parliamentary relations: "We are preparing a protocol on cooperation with the Parliament of Azerbaijan. This morning, we discussed the renewal of our cooperation with the speaker of your parliament. We need to protect the infrastructure in the Caspian Sea, and Italy provides all possible assistance in this regard. Together with Azerbaijan, we are trying to achieve peace in the South Caucasus on the basis of mutual respect, and the principle of mutual respect should be at least a prerequisite for reaching an agreement."
