The heads of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan have arrived in Ganja, where they visited the memorial complex in memory of civilians killed in rocket attacks by the Armenian armed forces during the Patriotic War, Report informs.

The diplomats honored the memory of the victims of the rocket attacks on Ganja by laying flowers at the memorial complex.

Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan were informed about the war crimes of the Armenian armed forces against civilians in Ganja.

Two years have passed since the city of Ganja was subjected to the fifth missile attack by Armenian armed forces during the Second Karabakh War. At around 1 a.m. on October 17, 2020, the SCUD/Elbrus ballistic missiles were treacherously fired into the peacefully sleeping settlement of Javadkhan in the center of Azerbaijan’s second largest city of Ganja, which is located far from the combat zone.

Residential buildings in the shelling area were completely destroyed, the residents were left under the rubble. As a result of the shelling, 15 people were killed, more than 55 civilians were injured, and significant damage was caused to civilian infrastructure and vehicles. The dead and injured included minors, women and the elderly.
