Azerbaijan is supporting the peace agenda and thinks that sooner finalizing a peace treaty with Armenia is better for the wider region, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev said in an interview with Euronews TV channel.
Azerbaijan is also supporting the concept of the integrated region of South Caucasus and within that process, of course, thinks that instead of searching and seeking the territorial claims of the neighboring countries, Armenia should also seek good neighborly relations with the neighboring countries, he noted.
He said that Baku had to resort to anti-terrorism measures in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.
“Azerbaijan made its intention very clear that if they disarm or decided to disarm, and Azerbaijan is ready to halt this military engagement and to start immediate contacts with Karabakh Armenians,” Hajiyev added.
