Hafiz Pashayev: Heydar Aliyev never forgot importance and value of democracy

All the actions of the national leader Heydar Aliyev were aimed at turning Azerbaijan into a prosperous country, Rector of ADA University Hafiz Pashayev said at the opening of the 4th International Conference on “Shaping the Geopolitics of the Greater Eurasia: from Past to Present to Future,” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, Report informs.

“Such conferences are a unique platform for discussing current trends in geopolitics,” the rector noted, adding that more than 60 experts from 38 countries take part in the event.

Pashayev told the participants about the role of the great leader in strengthening and developing the economy of Azerbaijan.

“Thanks to the far-sighted policy of Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan began to develop rapidly and overcame all difficulties. Heydar Aliyev was a winner in geopolitics. And he never forgot the importance and value of democracy,” he added.

According to Pashayev, the region of the South Caucasus and the Caspian Sea has always been in the center of geopolitical attention due to the presence of energy resources here. Azerbaijan’s global energy projects, such as the Contract of the Century, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, have shaped the future cooperation roadmap for the Eurasian region, he added.
