The resolute stance of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev left Russia with no alternative option, according to a segment by Turkish Haber Global TV about the crash of an AZAL passenger aircraft on December 25, Report informs.
The segment indicates that Russia was forced to apologize to Azerbaijan: "The next day, President Ilham Aliyev spoke and expressed his justified demands."
It was noted that President Ilham Aliyev immediately highlighted that Russia did not take responsibility after the aircraft was shot down, and even suggested different scenarios for the crash: "Putin called President Ilham Aliyev for the second time. The two leaders continued discussions about the incident."
It was also emphasized that 17 international experts are participating in the investigation of the incident.
A passenger aircraft belonging to AZAL operating the Baku-Grozny flight crashed near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan. Out of 67 people on board, 38 died and 29 survived. According to initial assessments, the aircraft was shot down in Russian airspace.
