German Ambassador: We want Azerbaijan and EU to sign a new agreement soon

Germany is interested in cooperation with the government of Azerbaijan, Report informs citing German Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Wolfgang Manig  who spoke at a press conference.

"We want Azerbaijan and the EU to soon sign a new agreement, as this helps strengthen economic ties, in particular with Germany. We want to see even more German entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan so that they come and share their experiences. We want to see this region calmer and more stable, " he said.

The ambassador also noted the importance of cooperation within international organizations. "Germany is chairing the UN Security Council until 2020. We would like to continue our cooperation with Azerbaijan also within the framework of this structure. In addition, beginning this fall Germany will assume chairmanship in the Council of Europe. And we want to help Azerbaijan cooperate even more closely with European organizations," the ambassador said.
