Georgian political scientist: Turkey will reaffirm support for Azerbaijan by opening consulate in Shusha

"Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Shusha, a significant city for Azerbaijanis, has gone down in history as the first visit of the Turkish President to Karabakh," Zurab Batiashvili, an expert at the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies, mentioned in an analytical article, local bureau of Report informs.

According to the political scientist, by opening a consulate in Shusha, Turkey will reaffirm its unconditional support for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity: "Erdogan's visit highlighted the realities in the region after the Second Karabakh War. Ankara continued to support its main ally Azerbaijan during the war. Turkey will try to take advantage of the situation in and around the Caucasus. "
