French intelligence acknowledges Baku Initiative Group's impact on independence movements

Bertrand Chamoulaud, head of the National Directorate for Territorial Intelligence at the French Ministry of the Interior, mentioned the Baku Initiative Group while discussing France's presence in Africa, Report informs.

In an interview with Le Monde, he acknowledged that anti-colonial movements in overseas territories are gaining strength. "Their influence has been bolstered by foreign actors such as the Baku Initiative Group, which supports and provides a platform for these independence movements," he said.

Chamoulaud admitted that the National Directorate for Territorial Intelligence has limited influence over movements in these territories. He noted that in the context of information warfare, individuals like Kemi Seba "are damaging French diplomacy."

Kemi Seba, who spoke at an international conference on "France's Neocolonial Policy in Africa" held in Baku in October, emphasized that Azerbaijan is one of the leading countries in the fight against colonization. After returning from Azerbaijan, Seba was detained by French special services but was soon released.
