Türkiye is ready to contribute to ensuring Europe's security, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the official opening of the IV Antalya Diplomatic Forum, Report informs.
According to him, membership in the European Union remains a strategic goal for Türkiye:
"Türkiye should take its place in the EU as a full member in the near future. We are ready to work in this direction and expect appropriate steps from the European Union," Erdogan emphasized.
Erdogan also noted the importance of bringing the trade turnover between Türkiye and the US to $100 billion.
Touching on relations with Russia, the president said that Ankara intends to continue bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
"We advocate for the earliest possible end to the Russian-Ukrainian war and are ready to provide support in this process," he added.
