The Ambassador of Japan to Azerbaijan, Junichi Wada, and a representative of the Central Hospital of Azerbaijan’s Yardimli district, which acts as the beneficiary organization of the project “Construction of a Family Health Center in the Yardimli district,” have signed a grant agreement, Report informs, citing the Japanese Embassy.
The ceremony was attended by the head of the Central Hospital of the Yardimli district, Rasim Akbarov, and representatives of the Association for the Management of Medical Territorial Units (TƏBIB).
According to the project, a Family Health Center is planned to be constructed in the village of Chanakhbulag, Yardimli district.
As a result of the project, patients who were previously forced to travel from remote areas to regional central hospitals (except for moderate and severe cases) will be able to receive the necessary medical care in the new Family Health Center. Thus, it is expected that the population of 15 villages in this district will have better access to medical care.
For the construction of the project, the Japanese government allocated a grant of $90,000 (about 152,100 manats).
