The upcoming 12th summit of the leaders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG), which will be held in Azerbaijan, is planned to discuss a wide range of global issues, the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan Elchin Amirbayov, said at a panel discussion entitled "OTS: Unique Model of Cooperation", which was held within the framework of the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Report informs.
According to Amirbayov, Azerbaijan is preparing to host this important international summit in October.
Amirbayov stressed that the modern world faces many challenges and divisions that require a more consolidated approach: "I believe that we need to strengthen the sense of belonging to this broad geography, which includes Central Asia, the South Caucasus and Türkiye. This will allow the Organization of Turkic States to finally move from the status of a cultural and linguistic association to the role of an important geopolitical player."
He noted that since the establishment of the OTS in 2009 in Nakhchivan, the organization has come a long way. "I am glad to see the progress we have made. I am confident that all these issues will be discussed in detail at the upcoming 12th summit, which Azerbaijan will proudly host this fall," Amirbayov said.
