Djibouti is interested in establishing a closer partnership with Azerbaijan and the country's non-governmental organizations, Director General of the National Agency for People with Disabilities, Adviser to the President of Djibouti on Disability Issues Mohamed Siad Doualeh said on the sidelines of the second day of the founding conference of the Global South NGO Platform in Baku, Report informs.
"It is a great honor for me to be present at the establishment of this platform. It is very important that our countries are connected at the civil society level. The Djibouti delegation took part in the COP29 climate conference last year, and we are happy to be in Baku again - already within the framework of this important forum," he noted.
He added that Djibouti welcomes the political progress towards the creation of a joint platform and highly appreciates the participation of many countries in this process.
"We look forward to working closely with the Government of Azerbaijan and all NGOs that have joined the platform. This is a very important initiative for all countries and we are proud to have been involved from the very beginning. We are particularly pleased with Azerbaijan's active involvement and its desire to expand international cooperation," the representative of Djibouti said.
