Deputy prosecutor general: Vietnam to support global anti-corruption initiatives

Vietnam intends to provide mutual support in the fight against corruption crimes within multilateral cooperation mechanisms, including the Global Anti-Corruption Network - GlobE Network, Deputy Prosecutor General of Vietnam Nguyen Quang Dung told journalists at the 6th session of the GlobE Network plenary meeting in Baku.

According to Report, he highly praised the organization of the session in Azerbaijan.

"It is a great honor for us to participate in the meeting in the beautiful city of Baku this year. We are impressed by the high level of organization provided by our Azerbaijani colleagues and firmly believe in the success of the meeting," he noted.

According to Nguyen Quang Dung, Vietnam is proud of its long-standing friendly relations with Azerbaijan.

"Many Vietnamese students studied in Azerbaijan in the past and now hold senior positions in government agencies. In addition, Azerbaijan has provided significant support to Vietnam in the formation and development of the oil and gas industry, which has had a positive impact on the economic growth of our country," he noted.

He also expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani people for supporting Vietnam in its struggle for national independence and for assisting in the process of national development. The deputy prosecutor general reminded that in March 2023, the Supreme People's Prosecutor's Office of Vietnam and the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan signed a memorandum of understanding, which became the basis for expanding cooperation in the fight against crime, protecting public interests and improving the qualifications of prosecutors.
