Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov visited Mexico City to participate in the inauguration of the newly elected President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
According to Report, during a meeting between President Claudia Sheinbaum and special guests, held after the inauguration ceremony in the country's parliament, Deputy Minister Mammadov expressed confidence that friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries will continue to develop on an upward trajectory.
On behalf of the country's leadership, Mammadov extended an invitation to COP29, which will be held in Baku in November. President Sheinbaum thanked the deputy minister, expressing interest in further strengthening cooperation between Mexico and Azerbaijan.
During a conversation with the new Mexican Foreign Minister Juan Ramon de la Fuente, who was present at the ceremony, prospects for cooperation between the two countries in various fields were discussed.
During meetings with the President of the Mexican Senate, Gerardo Fernandez Norona, and the Acting President of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Carlos Gutierrez Luna, Mammadov expressed gratitude for the fair position and solidarity demonstrated by the Mexican government and parliament during the former conflict, the recognition of the Khojaly genocide by both chambers of the Mexican Congress, and also informed about the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the post-conflict period.
