Deputy FM: Traditional values are being eroded in current changing world

In the current changing world, traditional values are being eroded, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov said at the 12th Global Baku Forum, Report informs.

According to Mammadov, in some cases, a situation is observed that does not even fit into the UN charter:

"Azerbaijan has suffered from Armenia's military aggression for many years. We have established the Organization of Turkic States. Every year this organization grows stronger. The Non-Aligned Movement acts as a leading platform. This movement is considered the second largest organization after the UN. Meanwhile, conflicts in the world do not subside. At such a time, Azerbaijan is demonstrating active diplomatic initiatives."

The deputy minister also said that it is imperative to be able to make independent decisions and take national interests as a basis:

"Countries must prioritize their national interests. Also, you cannot defend yourself without economic independence, and if you want to define your place in the world, you must have a strong economy."
