Today, there is a large set of projects between Azerbaijan and Russia’s Astrakhan in various sectors, which the parties are actively implementing, Denis Afanasyev, deputy chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan Region, told journalists, Report informs.
He noted that first of all, these projects concern the sphere of trade, transit, shipbuilding and logistics.
“There are all opportunities and platforms for the implementation of these projects. Both Azerbaijan and Astrakhan have special economic zones that allow us to work at the lowest expenses in industry and transport,” he said.
Afanasyev stressed the importance of strengthening the activities of the North-South corridor. “This issue is always on our agenda. In this regard, the Astrakhan region plays a key role, because this transport corridor in any case passes through the territory of the Astrakhan region,” he added.
According to Afanasyev, in addition to the economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Astrakhan, cooperation in the humanitarian sphere is widely developing.
“Cooperation in the field of tourism has great prospects. It is likely that the number of flights between us will increase,” he said.
