Croatian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Branko Zebic, expressed his admiration for the swift restoration efforts underway in Azerbaijan's liberated territories.
Speaking to Report, the ambassador noted that while this was his first visit to Khankandi, he had visited the Karabakh region six to seven times in total:
"So I am quite familiar with the Karabakh region. Nevertheless, I was impressed by how quickly the restoration work is being carried out. It is always possible to see something new here, and it is very pleasant to be here. But being in Khankandi for the first time is of special importance to me, because this city symbolizes the main center during the occupation period."
He added that Khankandi evoked memories of Knin, the city that served as the "capital" of the occupied territories in Croatia: "Therefore, this visit is both symbolic and meaningful. It is very beautiful to be here."
