Bulgaria hopes to develop energy co-op with Azerbaijan

Bulgaria hopes to further develop strategic cooperation with Azerbaijan in the energy sector, Bulgaria's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ruslan Stoyanov stated, Report informs.
Stoyanov made this remark at an event dedicated to Bulgaria's National Liberation Day in Baku.
"Energy is one of the main areas of our partnership. Our ties in this sector are of strategic importance. Azerbaijan provides almost half of Bulgaria's annual gas consumption, and we are looking forward to further strengthening energy ties," the diplomat said.
The ambassador also pointed out that Bulgaria is interested in developing initiatives for transmitting green energy from the Caspian region to Europe.
