Bochorishvili: Armenia and Azerbaijan can always rely on Georgia

For Georgia, a peaceful and secure South Caucasus is a top priority, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili stated at a panel discussion titled “Challenges and Opportunities for Regional Cooperation in the South Caucasus” held as part of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, Report informs.

"We recognize that our region has enormous potential. And in order to fully utilize this potential, we really need sustainable and long-term peace. That is why we welcome, first of all, the normalization agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. I really think that this is a great achievement," Bochorishvili said.

According to her, Georgia maintains strong and good-neighborly relations with both countries.

"With Azerbaijan, we have had a strategic partnership for decades, based on friendship and very good cooperation. And this is a very important asset that we have in the region. With Armenia, again, we have traditionally had very good relations, which have recently been upgraded to a strategic partnership. And this is also a very important asset that Georgia has in this situation. And we are sincerely interested in strengthening peace and stability in our region. And that is why we always say, and I will repeat it here, that both Armenia and Azerbaijan can rely on Georgia, which is ready to provide all possible means to facilitate dialogue in our region," the foreign minister stressed.
