Azerbaijani, Pakistani FMs discuss regional security issues

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar discussed regional security issues during a telephone conversation, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.

The ministers discussed the current state and prospects of existing strategic cooperation relations between the two countries, as well as the regional security situation.

They also reviewed high-level contacts between the leaders of the two countries, as well as the implementation of agreements reached during recent high-level visits, and partnership directions in economic, trade, investment, energy security, transport and other areas of mutual interest.

During the telephone conversation, the Pakistani minister provided information about the tension that has arisen between Pakistan and India. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in turn, expressed hope that the tension would be resolved through diplomatic means and negotiations.

In addition, views were exchanged on other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
