Azerbaijani Ombudsperson visits Armenian saboteurs who violated state border

Ombudsperson of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva, as part of the activities of the National Preventive Mechanism, has received on a confidential basis two servicemen of Armenia’s Armed Forces - Hovagimyan Harut Yuriki and Ghazaryan Karen Ashoti, who were detained on May 26 this year at the section of the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border passing through the territory of Razdere village, Zangilan district, with violation of Azerbaijan’s state border and other illegal actions, Report informs.

The received persons noted that they had no complaints about the conditions of detention and treatment, and expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani state for the conditions created.

The rights of these persons were ensured in accordance with the norms of international law, the necessary medical and psychological assistance was provided, which was confirmed by the persons themselves.

They were provided with legislative acts and international documents in their native language, as well as information on the possibilities of contacting the Ombudsperson and the 916 hotline.
