An Azerbaijani lawmaker has proposed establishing Azerbaijani consulates in several federal states of Germany, Report informs.
The suggestion was voiced by Member of Parliament Rizvan Nabiyev during today's plenary discussion of the draft state budget for 2026.
Nabiyev noted that 215 million manats ($126.5 million) are allocated for maintaining Azerbaijan's 93 embassies and consulates worldwide, and additional diplomatic offices could be considered where needed.
He said the opening of consulates in Germany's industrially strong federal states could both strengthen direct regional economic ties and ensure faster consular services for Azerbaijani citizens.
