The comments of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the decision of the International Court of Justice of February 23, 2023 are inversely proportional to the very decision of the court and are another attempt by the Armenian side to wishful thinking, Report informs referring to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry noted that Prime Minister Pashinyan’s comment on registering a lawsuit in connection with the “blockade” of the Lachin road is in no way connected with the text substantiating the court’s decision in connection with temporary measures, and the decision itself does not mention the blocking of the road.
It is regrettable that the prime minister is distorting the rationale of the decision by failing to come to terms with the court’s rejection of Armenia’s two main claims that the protest of a group of eco-activists on the Khankandi-Lachin road was allegedly “organized by the government of Azerbaijan” and “Azerbaijan is preventing the supply of natural gas and the provision of other utilities (electricity, Internet, etc.).”
