Azerbaijani FM meets with his Portuguese counterpart

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Portuguese Foreign Minister Joao Gomes Cravinho as part of his business trip to Belgium, Report informs.

During the meeting, the ministers reviewed the current state of relations between Azerbaijan and Portugal and noted the potential for developing various aspects of bilateral relations. At the meeting, they also touched upon the Azerbaijan-European Union ties.

Bayramov said there is a vast potential for developing economic trade and investment relations between the countries at the level of bilateral relations. Also, views were exchanged on issues related to energy security.

Azerbaijan's work and prospects in the field of energy security, export of energy resources to Europe, and development of alternative energy resources were discussed.

Bayramov informed his colleague about the post-conflict situation in the region, the steps taken by Azerbaijan towards peacebuilding, the restoration and construction works carried out in the liberated territories, and green energy projects, and also informed the other side about the ongoing mine threats.

Joao Gomes Cravinho said that his country is interested in deepening cooperation with Azerbaijan.

The parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
