Azerbaijani FM meets with CIS election observers

Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov informed the CIS observers about the measures taken in Azerbaijan to organize free, fair and transparent elections to the Milli Majlis, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

Jeyhun Bayramov today met with the delegation of observers led by the CIS First Deputy Secretary General Leonid Anfimov.

According to the ministry, the agenda of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the CIS, as well as the early parliamentary elections held on September 1, were discussed at the meeting.

Bayramov emphasized that these are the first parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan after the full restoration of sovereignty, which makes them an important historic and political event. The minister informed the delegation about the measures taken to organize free, fair and transparent elections, as well as the monitoring by international observers.
