Azerbaijani FM: Eleminating two obstacles will open path to peace agreement with Armenia

Although Azerbaijan is committed to the peace agreement, there are contradictory points in the Armenian Constitution, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a panel held within the framework of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, Report informs.

The minister said that this topic is very important for Azerbaijan:

"We have been waiting for the signing of the peace agreement since 2023. Making certain changes to the constitution is an issue in world practice."

Jeyhun Bayramov also responded to Ararat Mirzoyan's claim:

"The Azerbaijani Constitution does not contain any territorial claims to Armenia."

The minister also added that the elimination of two main obstacles - the abolition of the OSCE Minsk Group and the amendment to the Armenian Constitution - creates a real opportunity for the signing of the peace agreement:

"We believe that after these necessary steps, there will be no additional obstacles to the completion and signing of the peace agreement and the establishment of interstate relations between the two countries."
