MFA: Armenian leadership shouldn't forget that Armenians have no ties with the South Caucasus

Baku. 23 October. REPORT.AZ/ "The Armenian government, refering to the history, should not forget that the Armenians have no connection with the South Caucasus from the archaeological, ethnographic and anthropological point of view."

Report was informed by the head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hikmet Hajiyev.

According to him, after the collapse of the Russian Empire, Armenians, who settled in the South Caucasus, established structure similar to a state called Armenia on historical Azerbaijani territories: "The leadership of Armenia, which stressed that "Nagorno Karabakh is an inseparable part of Armenia," probably has not forgotten the statement of September 27, 2015, which once again proves the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia.

I would like to refresh the memory of the Armenian government, distorting the essence of 4 resolutions of the UN Security Council in its speech, which supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan, confirmed that Nagorno Karabakh is an inseparable part of Azerbaijan. It also expressed a requirement for the unconditional and complete withdrawal of occupying forces from Azerbaijani territory.

The resolution also noted the inadmissibility of violation of the internationally recognized borders of states and the forcible seizure of territories. In accordance with the document dated 23 March 1995 concerning the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group, the resolutions should form the basis of MG activities."

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman noted that Armenia turned the use of force and avoidance of threats by force into objects of political speculations: "Armenia used force against Azerbaijan, and as a result occupied 20% of the country. The calls of the international community and the OSCE Minsk Group to renounce the use of force and threats are not carried out by Armenia. At that time, as the Armenian troops must be withdrawn from the occupied territories and occupation and aggression must be stopped, Armenia uses force. Therefore, the whole responsibility falls on this country."
