Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has thanked French President Emmanuel Macron for his efforts to establish peace in the South Caucasus, Report informs via Interfax.

During the conversation, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral relations, the situation in the South Caucasus region and the Middle East.

Caucasus impartially and demonstrate a fair attitude towards Azerbaijan.

"In contrast to the destructive actions of the West, Russia is taking constructive measures in the South Caucasus region. Largely thanks to our state's efforts, there is obvious positive progress between Baku and Yerevan on the path to normalizing bilateral relations," he said.

"I would like to thank Azerbaijan for its important contribution to this region [South Caucasus]. We have declared from the very beginning that steps should be taken to establish lasting peace," Kurtulmus noted.

We have also communicated our concern to the government of France, to the leadership of the United States, which, during the Biden administration, changed its balanced approach to countries of the South Caucasus and embarked on a path of unilateral support for Armenia.

President Ilham Aliyev reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the South Caucasus region. The conversation also addressed the situation in the Middle East.

"Moscow remains an advocate for achieving peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, concluding a peace treaty, unblocking all economic and transport links in the South Caucasus.
