Azerbaijan MFA commented on Russia’s decision to prioritize settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Baku. 2 December. REPORT.AZ/ We welcome and appreciate decision of Russian Federation determining settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in cooperation with co-chairing countries as one of priorities of its foreign policy”.

Report informs, spokesman of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan Hikmat Hajiyev told.

According to him, in stated conception the principles expressed in statements by heads of co-chairing states of OSCE Minsk group in 2009-2013 years have been determined as basis for settlement of the conflict: “It is worth to note that in these statements heads of co-chairing states of OSCE Minsk group considered the status-quo as unacceptable and non-sustainable”.

H.Hajiyev told that Azerbaijani side, in accordance with discussions held by presidents at Saint Petersburg meeting, together with Russia and other co-chairs of Minsk group, will continue constructive steps to change unacceptable and non-sustainable status-quo, through substantive negotiations”.
