Azerbaijan hails UAE's support for demining operations in its liberated areas

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Lana Zaki Anwar Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs and Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, on the sidelines of the 17th Economic Cooperation Organization Summit held in Khankandi, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan's MFA.
The meeting noted that the close, friendly, and fraternal relations between the heads of state of Azerbaijan and the UAE have created a solid foundation for the development of the bilateral relations. The role of the political consultation mechanism between the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries in the further development of the strategic partnership was discussed.
Satisfaction was expressed with cooperation in the economic, trade, investment, energy and humanitarian spheres, as well as with mutually beneficial activities within international organizations and platforms such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement and the UN Climate Change Conference.
Successful joint projects in the field of alternative energy were discussed and the results achieved in this area were highly appreciated.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided the other party with detailed information on the rehabilitation and reconstruction work carried out in our liberated territories, the return of former internally displaced persons to their homelands, and the mine threat that poses a serious threat to these processes.
The UAE's support for humanitarian mine clearance and rehabilitation work in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan was hailed during the meeting.
The meeting also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
