Azerbaijan, Germany discuss co-op in humanitarian fields

The next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Federal Republic of Germany was held in Berlin, Report informs, citing Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
According to the ministry, the Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev, while the German delegation was headed by Konrad Arz von Straussenburg, Commissioner for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia countries at the German Foreign Ministry.
During the consultations, the current state of political relations between the two countries was discussed, and the importance of mutual visits and meetings within the framework of international events for maintaining continuous political dialogue was emphasized.
Discussions were held on the current state and development prospects of cooperation in economic, energy, transport, humanitarian fields and within the framework of international organizations, as well as strategic energy and transport projects implemented with Azerbaijan's initiative and participation. Humanitarian demining projects were also discussed.
At the meeting, detailed information was provided about the situation in the region in the post-conflict period, the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process, steps taken by Azerbaijan to establish lasting peace in the region, obstacles encountered, as well as large-scale restoration and reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories.
As part of the visit, Rzayev also held business meetings with a number of other German officials, as well as participated in round table discussions with representatives of leading research and think tanks.
