Under the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev and the supervision of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, 149 Azerbaijani citizens stranded in the United Arab Emirates due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic were repatriated on the UAE's Flydubai commercial flight.
All the passengers were placed up under quarantine following the relevant sanitary and epidemiological regulations.
Given the large number of citizens leaving for their homeland, the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Dubai collaborated with local authorities to speed up the registration process at Dubai International Airport.
Azerbaijan will continue to evacuate its citizens who had been stuck abroad because of border lockdowns due to the coronavirus pandemic.
