Azerbaijan discussing energy security, climate change with NATO

The Azerbaijan-NATO event focused on energy security and climate change opened in Baku on October 28, Report informs.

The forum was organized as part of the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan's accession to NATO's Partnership for Peace framework document.

The roundtable is attended by representatives from NATO's Climate and Energy Security Sector of the Innovation, Hybrid Issues and Cybersecurity Division, representatives from member and partner countries of the alliance, including experts in the relevant field, and academic representatives from relevant Azerbaijani institutions.

The event includes exchanges of views on energy security, Azerbaijan's role in ensuring Europe's energy security, possible threats and risks to critical energy infrastructure and its protection, and climate change issues.

Anar Mutallimov, deputy head of the Department for Military-Political Affairs - Head of Department at Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spoke at the event.

Azerbaijan's role as a reliable partner and energy supplier was particularly emphasized, as well as the country's activities in combating climate change and transitioning to green energy, including its chairmanship of COP29.
