Azerbaijan and Vietnam have discussed potential cooperation opportunities in mine action during a visit by an ANAMA delegation to Vietnam, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA).
According to the agency, the delegation, led by Chairman of ANAMA's Management Board Vugar Suleymanov, held meetings with officials from the Vietnam National Mine Action Center and the Quang Tri Mine Action Center as part of the visit.
The meetings focused on exchanging best practices in mine action, establishing and developing close cooperation ties, and other issues of mutual interest.
The ANAMA delegation highlighted the existing problem of landmines and other explosive remnants of war in Azerbaijan and provided information about the activities carried out and methodologies applied to eliminate this problem, as well as the training conducted in the field of humanitarian demining.
The ANAMA delegation is set to continue its meetings on this topic during a visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Vietnam is one of the countries that faced the threat of landmines and other explosive remnants of war and it has extensive experience in combating this threat.
