The capital city of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, hosted the latest round of consular consultations between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan on Wednesday, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s MFA.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. The Uzbek side was represented by Bobur Azizov, Head of the Consular and Legal Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
In addition to foreign ministry officials, the meeting was attended by representatives from Azerbaijan's State Migration Service and Uzbekistan's Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, and the Agency for External Labor Migration.
During the consultations, the parties exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of consular cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, including the possibility of signing new bilateral documents in this field.
The protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens of both countries, as well as the development of ties in the areas of migration and justice, were also discussed.
