Assistant to President: 'We are in contact with the commander of the Russian peacekeepers'

"We have sent letters to the Russian peacekeepers, we are in contact with their commander," Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, said as he met with the representatives of the diplomatic corps together with Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov.

According to Report, the official noted that at the same time, these issues caused serious dissatisfaction in the Azerbaijani society. "Because everyone is well aware that during the years of occupation and in the period when the lands were liberated, the issues related to the sovereignty of Azerbaijan cause serious concern in our society. Therefore, activists of Azerbaijan's civil society, representatives of non-governmental organizations, other activists and groups gathered at the intersection of the Shusha-Khankandi-Lachin road and expressed their protest."

Hajiyev emphasized that the opinions expressed by the protesters correspond to all legal frameworks: "They make lawful demands, they do not want anything illegal. Environmental terrorism is also mentioned in their slogans. They demand an end to environmental terrorism in Karabakh."
