Armenia's position on missing persons remains non-constructive, says Ali Naghiyev

Armenia continues to take a non-constructive position in clarifying the fate of missing persons, stated Ali Naghiyev, the Chief of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan and Chairman of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons, Report informs.

He made the remark during a meeting with Kathryne Bomberger, the Director General of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP).

Naghiyev noted that the issue of searching for missing Azerbaijani citizens, which remains a priority for Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, is an urgent measure that the commission continues to address:

"Work has been conducted to identify and exhume graves of missing persons as a result of the Karabakh conflict and to identify the remains of the found bodies. However, Armenia does not intend to cooperate in clarifying the fate of missing persons and is still taking a non-constructive position."
