"The main principle for us is Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's words 'Azerbaijan's joy is our joy, and its sorrow is ours too.' and Heydar Aliyev's words 'One nation, two states'. Our alliance is based on these concepts," Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci said at a conference on the Shusha Declaration and the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijani-Turkish diplomatic relations, Report informs.
"We must see the reality of unity in word, deed, and thought. We had Azerbaijani brothers fighting on the Canakkale front. At the same time, there were Turks from Kirkuk, Anatolia, and the Balkans in the army led by Nuru Pasha, which fought against the Bolshevik invasion. They were martyred in these lands. We must also be guided by the ideas of the Seljuks, who saw the security of Anatolia in the Caucasus," Bagci stressed.
