Azerbaijan and Ukraine are preparing documents for the construction of four social facilities in the city of Irpin, according to the Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Yuriy Husyev, Report informs.
The ambassador said that two of these facilities will be sports and arts schools.
Husyev emphasized that the program for rehabilitation and recreation of Ukrainian children in Azerbaijan is also expanding.
"Since 2022, more than 300 children have undergone rehabilitation in Azerbaijan, and we expect two more groups of 30 children each to arrive soon," the ambassador said.
The diplomat underscored that such cooperation strengthens friendship between the two nations.
Husyev also pointed out that economic cooperation between the two countries is deepening and drew attention to the interest of Azerbaijani companies in investing in Ukraine.
"Last year, Azerbaijani investors purchased the United Mining and Metallurgical Company that was put up for privatization auction. The trade turnover between our countries and investment in the Ukrainian economy by Azerbaijani companies are increasing," he noted.
According to him, although the volume of trade turnover before the war in Ukraine exceeded $1 billion, the figure stood at only $500 million for 2024.
The ambassador further stressed that Ukraine is interested in the development of the Middle Corridor, as it allows the country to develop the trade of Ukrainian goods in Azerbaijan.
"The development of the Middle Corridor is a very relevant issue connecting Kyiv and Baku," the diplomat concluded.
