Ambassador: Romania and Azerbaijan aim to strengthen transport cooperation

Romania and Azerbaijan are seeking to strengthen cooperation in the transport sector, Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasile Soare said at a reception marking his country's National Day.

According to Report, the diplomat emphasized that the Middle Corridor is a key route connecting Europe and Asia, with the ports of Baku and Constanta playing the role of important geographical hubs.

Soare noted significant progress in trade and economic cooperation between the countries. He also emphasized that since 2022, Romania and Azerbaijan have been successfully working on implementing a crucial energy project — the Black Sea Energy green corridor — which will strengthen energy security in Central and Eastern Europe.

"Concrete results were achieved in September this year in Bucharest, where participating countries agreed to establish a joint venture for the project," Soare added.

According to him, over 32 years of diplomatic relations, cooperation between Romania and Azerbaijan has significantly deepened in most areas, including politics, diplomacy, economics, energy, transport, culture, and education.
