Ambassador: Hungary-Azerbaijan relations risen to level of strategic partnership

Relations between Hungary and Azerbaijan have risen to the level of strategic partnership, Hungarian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Tamas Torma said during a meeting at the Center for Economic Reforms and Communications, Report informs.

According to him, Hungary's policy towards Azerbaijan implies strong support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of this country.

“Speaking about our bilateral relations with individual member countries of the OTS (Organization of Turkic States), I would like to emphasize that Hungary’s relations with the Turkic countries are also actively developing. In 2018, Hungary joined the OTS as an observer. The next important stage was the opening of a representative office of the OTS in Budapest,” he said.

Tamas Torma noted that Hungary is developing a strategic partnership with all OTS countries.

“We deeply value our linguistic, cultural and historical ties, as well as emotional kinship with the Turkic countries. We are proud of our Turkic roots and consider the Turkic peoples to be our brothers,” the ambassador added.
