Azerbaijan has been closely cooperating with the United States and Israel for a long time, which has contributed to the security of the South Caucasus and other regions.
As Report informs, this was stated by Azerbaijan's Ambassador in US Khazar Ibrahim in an interview with Diplomatic Watch, responding to a question about the potential for trilateral cooperation.
According to him, the development of trilateral cooperation serves the interests of all three countries, and Baku is interested in its further deepening.
"Take, for example, the Middle Corridor. This is the shortest, fastest, and most cost-effective route connecting Europe and Asia. This corridor will benefit Israel and Azerbaijan. And, of course, the United States—being a global superpower and playing an important role in this project—will also benefit from it," said Ibrahim.
He noted that since Azerbaijan is interested in developing logistical connections, this allows for diversifying areas of partnership with Israel.
"We are not just talking about oil and gas, we also transport other cargo that can benefit Israel and neighboring countries. We view this in a regional and holistic context," said the diplomat.
Summing up, Ibrahim noted that Azerbaijan also maintains good relations with Arab countries, Central Asia, and its neighbors.
"We consider ourselves a connecting country. But if we talk specifically about cooperation in the Azerbaijan-Israel-US format, these trilateral relations serve the interests of all parties," he concluded.
