Alexei Chikhayev: France talks about human rights, but violates them in practice

“Although France talks about the need to protect human rights, it does not hesitate to violate them in practice,” Alexsei Chikhayev, a senior research fellow at St. Petersburg State University, said at an international conference titled “Decolonization: Empowerment and Development of Women,” organized by the Baku Initiative Group, Report informs.

According to him, this can be clearly seen in the policy of Paris in the African region: “France behaves very selfishly. The government of this country only does what is in line with its commercial interests.”

Chikhayev noted that France has been continuing its unfair policy against African countries for many years.

He added that France’s main goal was to hinder the development of countries on the African continent: “In this sense, France is currently pursuing a neo-colonial policy.”
