Thai national minifootball team standout Pearpong Chaiyong praised the organization of the World Minifootball Cup in Baku, according to Report.
“Everything is really good here. We’re very pleased. This is how a world championship should be,” Chaiyong told Report. “The tournament in your country has become an example for everyone.”
Thailand made a strong statement in their 4–1 victory over Costa Rica, with Chaiyong earning the Best Player of the Match honors. Reflecting on the win, the midfielder noted that the match was far from easy.
“There was a bit of pressure early in the first half because Costa Rica is not a weak team,” he said. “But we had done our homework, analyzing them through their previous games. We’re committed to doing our best in the upcoming matches.”
The World Minifootball Cup, hosted at Baku’s National Gymnastics Arena, continues through June 1.
