Repair, restoration work intensified at Khankandi stadium

Repair and restoration work has intensified at the Khankandi stadium, the public relations department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in Khankandi city, Aghdara and Khojaly districts, told Report.

The construction process has been accelerated in Khankandi city, Aghdara and Khojaly districts in preparation for the 3rd CIS Games.

The construction of the stadium is expected to be completed by September 2025.

The Khankandi stadium, with a capacity of 15,000 spectators, was commissioned in 1956. During the Soviet era, Aghdam's Qarabag club held its home games in this arena. The stadium includes changing rooms for players, conference rooms, medical facilities, rooms for referees and technical staff. At the same time, according to the project, ticket sales, as well as various public catering facilities, above-ground parking lots, and checkpoints will be created inside the stadium.

The archery competitions of the 3rd CIS Games are scheduled to be held at the Khankendi city stadium in September.
